Ingredients

Scale

Here’s what you’ll need to make Cabbage and Noodles (serves 4-6):

For the Dish:

  • 12 oz (340g) egg noodles

  • 1 medium head of cabbage (about 2 lbs), thinly sliced

  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced

  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter (divided)

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp paprika (optional, for extra flavor)

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

  • Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

How to Make Cabbage and Noodles Step 1: Cook the Noodles

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the egg noodles and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Step 2: Sauté the Cabbage and Onions

In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of butter and 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook for 3-4 minutes until softened. Add the thinly sliced cabbage and cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender and slightly caramelized.

Step 3: Season the Cabbage

Sprinkle the garlic powder, paprika (if using), salt, and black pepper over the cabbage. Stir to combine and cook for another 2-3 minutes.

Step 4: Combine the Noodles and Cabbage

Add the cooked egg noodles to the skillet with the cabbage. Toss everything together, adding the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter to coat the noodles and cabbage evenly. Cook for 2-3 minutes until heated through.

Step 5: Serve

Transfer the Cabbage and Noodles to a serving dish. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve hot.

Notes

  • Don’t Overcook the Cabbage: Cook it just until tender to maintain a slight crunch.

  • Use High Heat for Caramelization: This enhances the flavor of the cabbage and onions.
